Qilu University of Technology（Shandong Academy of Sciences）(QLUT)was founded in 1948,located in Jinan, a historical and cultural city known as the City of Springs.It isthe first batch of bachelor’s degree-granting units of the Countryanda master’s degree-granting unit, which is recognized by the mainstream mass media as“The Top Ten Most Reputable Universities” in Shandong Province and “The Most Competitive University In Student Employment”.

Covering an area of approximately 617 acres, QLUT has four campuses located in Jinan and Heze city. It is well equipped with basic and advanced teaching and research facilities which is worth 10.5 billion, about 5 millions books, hard copy or electric as well as modern laboratories, training bases, sports venue, dormitories, canteens and internet accesses covering all the university area.

QLUT now has more than3,000 full-time teachersand scientific researchers, among which there are over 1,100Professors andassociate professorsand 37 doctoral student supervisors and 570 master student supervisors.There are 20 schools at QLUT including School of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering and Automation, School of Paper-making and Plant Resources Engineering, School of Leather Chemistry and Engineering, School of Food Science and Engineering, School of Biological Engineering, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, School of Business Administration, School of Art, etc... Andthere are 12 R&D institutes including Oceanographic Instrumentation Institute, Laser Research Institute, Computing Center , Analysis and Test Center, Automation Research Institute, Energy Research Institute, New Material Research Institute, Biology Research Institute, Institute for Development Strategy of Science and Technology, Information Research Institute, Sino-Japanese Friendly Bio-technology Research Institute, and New and Hi-tech Industrial Base (Mid-experimentation). The key research fields cover information technology, bio-engineering technology, new materials, new energy & energy-saving technology, automation technology, laser technology, intelligent instrument, analysis and test, fine chemicals and soft science, etc.

In recent year, our university has been responsible for carrying out 408 state-level scientific research programs, 1111 provincial-level scientific research programs.The annual scientific fees have reached 468 million and we have won 5 National Scientific Awards, 130 Provincial Scientific Awards. Our university has also been active in university-industry cooperation and been recognized as A Model Institution for National Technology Transfer and An Outstanding Institution for University-Industry Cooperation of Shandong Province.

QLUTis a comprehensive university with multi-disciplinary subject areas includingEngineering, Science, Liberal Arts, Economics, Management, Law, Medicineand Art. Ithas 73undergraduate majorsand 14authorized first classmaster's degreegranting centers. The total population of full time students is 30,000.

QLUT insistson the opening up policy andinternationalization.Having beengradually strengthenedthe exchange and cooperation withhigh-level international universities, scientific research institutes, large and medium-sized enterprisesfromover40countries, such as the United States,South Korea, Germany, Australia,French,New Zealand, Finland,Ukraine, etc... The cooperationfields includeCooperative Education, Teacher Exchange, Student Exchange,credit transfer, dual-degree joint cooperation, overseas trainingand Cooperative Research.It has two Joint-run programs with Germany and New Zealand, an IELTS Test Center and holding the “International Beer and Beverage Brewing Technology Seminar”every two years.There are 33 state and provincial international cooperation or research centers with more than 30 long term foreign experts working on the campus.
